Why does it take 2-3 min to get to desktop?

I just upgraded to windows 2000 pro.. when i start the computer, it takes approx 2-3 minutes to get in my desktop icons. The computer goes through alot of checks to include seen the windows logo etc.. How can i configue it so it will bypass all those checks and it goes directly to the desktop icos? please reply to the above e-mail

I suggest you trouble shoot and put more ram into the computer, i cant view your profile to see what kind of processor you have also make sure you dont any other operating sytem in your computer it could slowit down.
