After booting up and after i have entered the password to access my computer the desktop is not showed

after booting up and after i have entered the password to access my computer the desktop is not being showed,when i press contr+alt+del the task manager is available but i'm not able to view the desktop nor any of the programmes,plz help me and suggest me something in such a way that i don't have to format the computer as i have very important documents in my computer

To answer your question

{1} Does the pc boot properly

{2} Is the video card working

{3} Can you see light or hear a spinning drive or fan on the pc.

One of the first things you see display on the monitor screen duing bootup is the video card BIOS identifying itself after POST executes this BIOS on the card If you don't see this message about the system video and the screen is blank, but you do hear beeps indicating that booting is functioning then suspect a problem with the video card.
