Ever since (about six months ago) I did a scan disk and defrag I get this error message when the computer boots up.

DW - This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. If problem persists, contact the program vendor.

I hit the X to close the program and the computer goes ahead and functions correctly.

The only time I have a problem have now after that is when I try to defrag or scan disk. The computer keeps restarting and will not let me complete these tasks. Not sure if these problems are related but have had problems ever since I shut down all programs to do the scan and defrag six months ago. Any help would appreciated.

Problem with Scandisk and Defrag

Sometimes, some programs that belong to your operating system, do not function as must be, and this kind of problem could be cause by electrical fluctuation, electrical failure on your power surge, and many other problems

To fix this problem I recommend you to use your windows installation cd to repair those programs.
