I have a 30 gig hard drive that is partitioned into 3 partitions. This is a slave drive. Recently when I was doing a defrag on the drive, the H partition would not defrag. Then it seemed to quit working altogether. When I click on it in Windows Explorer it says "H:/ is not accessible. A device attached to the system is not functioning."

Do you have any idea what might have heppened and how I can get access to this partition? I have scans of pictures and documents on that partition that I would like to get back and I want to store more stuff there, if it is safe to do.

It looks like the partition table has been damaged, try to use some disk dianogstic problem like Norton Disk doctor, Partition Magic etc If that doesn't work then you will have to re partition the drive (lose data) Hope this helps.
