What is a dirty laser lens

My CD/RW drive doesnt read the blank disc i put in. It just says No Disc inserted, and yes i did insert a cd-r blank disc and it is completely fine. I also used different company named blank discs. everytime its the same. What could be the problem? Please help

Sounds like you might have to clean your CD RW drive The only problem i can think of off hand would be the lens is dirty and needs to be cleaned with a CD RW cleaner.

So try that and see if it works.
