Bootup

My pc reboots after the windows XP loading page displays. It's in a reboot loop, instead of loading windows. I can't get into windows in safe mode of any other way. Is it a hardware problem or a virus? I'm about ready to try reformatting and installing windows but I have a gut feeling that it is a motherboard problem. Any possible solutions will be greatly appreciated.

I think is the mother board because i had the same problem and i have to change the motherboard
