Why can't I hold onto a connection?

My connection only lets me stay connected for a few minutes, or even seconds, at a time. I have tried my ISP provider and the trouble is not at their end. I can log onto a computer in another part of the house and I'm okay, with my same information.

My brother is a computer tech and he can't seem to find the problem...When I try to enter a chat room, download my resume onto my Juno account, or simply loggin into MS Office.

We used NORTON to check systems and we get an ActiveX/Com error. Do a repair, it says it's repaired but then when we do another scan the same error occurs.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

There is something with your computer, there has to be some corrupted files which are cause the malfunctions, you should get it checked out again by someone, and if they can't find a problem it maybe best to invest in another computer.
