I purchased a laptop from some one. They told me it has a possible software problem. so far i have found that hte mother board is bad and the main quetion that i have is when i try to boot up the laptop. Once the boot cyle gets to the hard drive it is asking of a passord. i have contacted the original owner of the pc and they tell me that know of no password on the system. Is there a way of getting pass the password. I really don't care if all the data is lost because i plan on loading new OS to the pc. I have tried booting up from the A: drive with no problems but when i try to access the hard drive i still need to enter a password to get into in. Is there anything i can do.

Thanks ED

If you do not mind lossing any data you can put in a bootable flappy disk or cd and format the hard drive This will allow you to install a new OS and set your own password.
