Deleted spaCE ON 6GIG HARD DRIVE BUT WHEN TO CHECK IT IT DID NOT DELETED

i deleted some games of my 6gig hard drive about 1.5 gig worth i went to see how much space i had and it was still the same it dident give me the space back i did a defrag and it was fragmented alot but it dident defrag it propery i did scan disk and defrag again still dident clear it ive tried defrag 10 times now my drive is full but it shoudent b it wont defrag the analasys shows alot of red chunks ie fragmented files but they wont defrag every time i delete somthin the space wont get freed up plzzzzz help
