I get an error message telling me that the Remote Procedure Call was unexpectedly terminated. A coutdown will then appear and I have a minute to save all programs. How can I stop this?

I used to have to use Windows Task Manager to end the system32.exe process when online becasue it would 'suck up' all of my computer resources. But I get the error message whether or not I have ended the process.

Hello...

Sorry to be the barer of bad news but it seems like you have been infected with the blaster worm

aka MSBLAST, W32BLASTER

Have no fear though There are patches for windows to fix it and a tool from symantec to remove it.

Here are the links :)

(Link about the actual worm) http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp

(Symantec Blaster removal tool) http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

Last but not least, to get the patch do a microsoft windows update on your computer.

The patch is included in the updates Make sure you stay up to date with them as well.

I hope this has helped you

Good Luck
