How can I get my computer to stop freezing?

Computer suffers 'mini' freezes especialy when playing a game. It has been fine for months but developed this annoying problem a week ago. all scans come up clear including scandisk and defrag. no additions or new software added. only system tray and AVG in start up.

Well, your problem could be that you have too many programs downloaded, in your situation what you can do is loosing your computer a bit, clean it up and then see how it manages.
