I recently cleaned out my hard drive and installed Windows XP. Everything worked great until my CD/DVD rom and the CD-RW drives dissappeared from my computer. I tried some troubleshooting without any luck. I opened up the tower and unplugged the device from the motherboard rebooted and then plugged them back in again. Everything went back to normal for about a week and then they dissappeared again. I did the same steps again and after a week or so the same thing happend except now the drive door on the burner is stuck open and will not close. I think the burner is Kaput.
