My computer was having severe problems , hanging, re-booting, error messages, etc.

It got worse and worse until I finally re-formatted my hard drive and gave up all my saved stuff (nothing really important, except my music) and my computer is still not quite right. I can get on line, but (for example) I can't finish installing my Norton Anti-Virus. I get a script error message.

I realize this is very vague to an expert. I had a virus last year and did the re-format thing and all my problems were solved. I expected the same this time, just wasn't as lucky.

I don't really know where to start, so I was hoping you could tell me some things to try, short of taking this in for service.

The blaster worm that is a hot topic now sounds like what my computer was doing, but I am running Windows ME and this problem started in mid-July. I read that the music companies were putting bugs in their music that would make your operating system act crazy, or not at all, so I thought the reformatting would be a sure cure.

Can you give me any help?
