k installed a memory chip 128 along with original chip 256. It worked well for about a year and half. Then got new chip 256 installed and it would not reconize it did all diagnostic work even checked out the slot itself and installed chip in another computer but my computer doesn't reconize it tried switching banks and the banks are ok it would seem that my computer is allocating the ram to cache memory instead of ram you have any ideas how to rectify this problem.

If you want more ram then buy a motherboard that can support as much ram as you want to install That's the reason it wont pick it up Carlos Millan Jr.
