Hello, well i have a problem.. and i guess i'll start off with my Specs :

64mb Nvidia egeforce 4 mx 440 SE

384mbs of RAM (uped from 128 recently)

PIII 450 mhz

Well as of a few days ago my computer has had a major performance decrease.. i havent changed any settings or downloaded odd files, for example .. when just doing regular internet browsing the computer will just suddenly lock up for a few seconds.. and then continue normally and then lock up again in another 5-10 seconds.. also my mouse icon changes to the load icon.. ( the sand jar timer i forgot what its called at the moment) this is the same for games .. Counter-stirke - dark age of camlot. i scanned for spyware, trojans, viruses, scan disked, and defragged. and still no change.. also have emptied my temp files. I looked at my physical memory and saw it at 5% so i cleaned out the case and it improved to 30% (heh funny to me) and then uped my RAM to 384 which brought up my physical memory to 70-80% yet i still freeze... i've checked my Virtual memory.. which is set as let windows decide, my hardware video acceleration is at max.. file system at max, my IE cache is empty. my hard drive use is currently 5.57/12.7 gigs i have done everything i can think of and am really just out of ideas.. uh i guess i could ask this also, its about my ZIP drive its a IOMEGA 100 and whenever i put in my zip disk. it freezes the computer and the drive clicks at a pulse of 1-2 seconds and.. this doesnt stop.. anyway i hope you can help me with my problem.

Thank You

- Brian

Well Brian, it sounds like you have done everything that you needed to do inorder to find what's going on I would check and see if there's anything that might not be compatible with your operating system Such as an old windows 95 game Which 98 can pick up but will lack a whole lot Or you can try to run a windows update and see what needs to be updated in order to bring your computer up to speed to support your games Carlos Millan Jr.
