I have lost the top (usually permanent) menu bar in MS Word. Believe me....tried everything to get it back it has remained lost while I have:

- removed and reinstalled Word

- removed and reinstalled word as part of a newer version of MS Office pro.

-installed XP over my older ME and then reinstalled word and office again.

thru all of this that top menu (with file, edit, view, etc) still is missing. It's been over a year now.

Is there somewhere in the guts of windows that some parameter or switch is located

that is not affected by removing and reinstalling the word software? None of my other

MS or other software has this problem.
