Why is it impossible to open email attachments?

Hello,

Several friends email attachments are almost impossible to open. A grey open envelope icon appears. Click on the icon and a new, blank window opens with a new grey open envelope icon. Click on the new icon, same thing. This can go on 2-6 times, until finlly the attachment opens and can be read.

Whenever this happens you could always try opening attachment on different program, like microsoft word or imageing if its a picture, you could save them then open them on differrent programs.
