COMPUTER INFECTED WITH THE W32 DUMARU@MM PURCHASED MCAFEE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE

My computer got infected with the virus W32/dumaru@mm despite having purchased McAfee anit-virus software. It told me that I was infected, but I assumed the reason for paying for the protection was to actually PROTECT my computer.

What am I actually paying for? Just notification of the infection?
