What is kazaa lite feature called simple trick

When i get on web pages there appears in the spaces that i assume are advertizements, an "action canceled " message telling me it can't find the web site. and i need to refresh or check my settings, etc. Other than that it dosen't interfere with browsing. It seems to have some thing to do with kazaa That my daughter uses. but i would like to know what is going on here, as i haven't had any success in solving it. Thanks!

From what i have searched on Kazaa lite web site it could very well be there software causing that on web pages Kazaa Lite has a feature called Simple trick It blocks ads and pop ups on web sites It does this by editing your host file on your computer to block certain web sites that serve ads to other web sites Therefore you will not see those ads show For example, one of the most popular ad servers is ATWOLA Now what kazaa will do is edit a file on your computer called a HOSTS file and set it to deny anything directing to ATWOLA And wal laaaaaa you shall not get any ads from ATWOLA leavin you with blank empty spaces where the ads use to be Overall this can be a good thing as well as annoying What you can do to fix this is open up kazaa and check out the preferences and there should be some way to disable the Simple trick feature.
