How can I arrange the memory on my pc?

I've been doing alot of downloading of tv shows I like on Kazaa and I was running low on space so I deleted stuff I didn't need including lots of music I had downloaded and some programs. Shortly after I went to check my email on Outlook Express and it wouldn't work. I think I had deleted the file with the messages but there was also something else that I don't recall, some dll file. Anyways, shortly after I went to reboot my computer to see if it would help and now it doesn't work. It starts up slowly and then it just shows the wallpaper and no desktop. I've tried hitting buttons, but nothing seems to happen. I don't know what's wrong. Would it be possible if I buy some RAM and install it for it to work or am I screwed. Please respond asap. Thanks.

One thing I suggest is to install new memory on your pc, u just said u tried rebooting it and still nothing out of it, there for the only solution up next is new installation, and becareful this time how u download and erase.
