I start it up and it doesn't get anywhere. No screen with cursor or anything. I can hear the fan run but nothing else happens. If I try to restart or shut down it won't do it. I even try to hit the reset little hole button in the back of the computer that usually shuts it down but when I hit the reset button it shuts down but when I let go it continues to run. Then the only way to stop it from running is to disconnect the power and take out the battery. I even try to start up with a system diskette in and it doesn't even query the drive.

HELP!!!!! Am I screwed?

Thanks for any help you might offer.

It could be you have a damage hard drive I came across a problem like that and the system wouldn't anything I found out the problem was caused by a damaged plate in the hard drive and it was caused by the manufacturer.
