What is a screen saver

The last couple of days when my PC has been left on with screensaver running after a period of time the screen has gone blue with Drive C Error on it. I have turned off machine and when it re-boots it come up with Boot Disc Failure. I then unplug and leave until next day and it then goes through opening up checking Drive C for errors and then starts back up as normal, can you identify what might be the cause.

If you downloaded the screen saver or installed it from a third party cd, then it is corrupt You can reinstalled the OS cd and it should correct the problem with your c drive.
