What could be a conflict problem

No matter what type of disc I put in my CD ROM or CDRW drive, it sees it as a music CD. I cant load or burn anything from a disc. Whats causing this or can you at least direct me in the right direction as where to look for the problem?

I sounds like you have a conflict problem Go to device manager and if your cd rom and cdrw is share the same IRQ's
