I have speaker that are Altec lansing. The speakers are connected to a subwoofer. About a month ago these speakers were working. I plugged in all of the wires where they were supposed to be plugged in at and everything is plugged in. I do not have monitor or keyboard speakers, just the ones that I connected. I did move recently but nothing got bounced around and nothing definitely got messed with. I take great care when it comes to moving my computer and hardware that goes with it. I do not know what to do, because they were working before but now they are not. I'm not sure if i just need to go out and get new speakers, but everything should be fine, but it's not. What should i do?

Hello,

Wow i dont know what to say to this one hahaha!. I am going out on a wing here so bare with me if i say obvious like things First off make sure the subwoofer is plugged in I know they have there own power source if the speakers have a power light you could be able to tell if power is gettin to them. If they are proceed to this step You want to boot in to your computer click start|settings|control panel Once your in your control panel scroll down and double click on system Then go to the hardware tab and click on device manager button Once the device mananger window pops up check to make sure there are no yellow question marks That shows that some drivers might not be installed which could very well be your audio driver If no yellow question marks are in place you should then close out and check your volume controls to make sure the volume is not muted If they are not muted Then i would take some head phones and plug them in to the speaker plug in the back of my computer, pop a cd in to my computer and see if the sound comes out the headphones And if it does then you can conclude that it is the speakers.

I hope this has helped you

Good luck with the speakers
