WINDOWS XP PRO was installed on my computer by the network administrator at my former job. Because I'm not the administrator, I'm unable to perform certain functions on the computer (i.e. get MS upgrades, download patches, etc...) I have been unable to contact the administrator. I would like to install MY OWN version of XP (probably Home). What do I do?

Do I uninstall or delete the "networked" version of XP? (do I need administrative priveleges for that?) Or will the new version override the old one? PLEASE HELP! THANK YOU!

Depending on your rights you could uninstall or delete the networked version, but if the adminstrator didn't give you the rights you will not be able to do anything Try it if it doesn't work try booting up from a boot disk and reformat from there and then reinstall the OS you want.
