Bought new monitor. Unplugged old monitor, plugged in new monitor, fired up computer. Seemed to boot okay, then after Win98 screen the monitor goes black and the "check signal' message comes up.

Plugged in old monitor, same black screen.

Used other cables, same thing.

Checked to see if Vid card was seated properly. Still no change.

I can boot up in safe-mode and monitor works.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

This problem happends when your power surge is providing less power meaning your monitor needed more power in this case change the power surge and that will solve the problem.
