What could be a bent pin

My computer case and cpu fans come on when I press the power button but the monitor doesn't show boot up until i hit the reset button. Then the power led comes on and the system boots up correctly. I double checked the connections and the only thing that is odd is in system devices. It shows a default monitor and a plug and play monitor. I have only one graphics board and one monitor. Can you help Thanks Mark

Check if a pin on your monitor is bent or missing That was what caused my same problem.
