I am having trouble getting my computer to boot and I think it is my power supply. Is there a simple test to check to see if the power supply is bad. I have verified there is power at the outlet, the power cord is good, and conected securely to the computer but the only thing that works is one little led on the motherboard. Everything was alright the night before the problem started then five hours later the computer would not boot.

Hello,

One of the first things you should check is the power connectors to your internal devices it seems that the power supply is fine since you can see the light on the mother board which shows power is gettin there Check to make sure the jumpers are set correct on the hard drive as well as the power cable You will also want to check the jumper settings on the mother board which direct to the power LED, reset LED etc In my experience the computer will not boot with out those properly placed Some other things to check is the video card is properly seated inside the motherboard so you can get a display

I hope you have found this helpful.

Good luck
