What is files transfer

I'm wanting to backup my important files from the old server to this new server. I've tried setting up a backup schedule on the old server to go to the second drive on new server but go in the next day and no backup file is on the new server. What is the problem and can I do this across the network like I want? How do I fix the problem?

You have to get a cross over cable to connect the two computer and you can do a net meatting then do a file transfer.
