I reinstalled Windows 2000. Then, Microsoft Office products stopped functioning. I tried to reinstall them, but it keeps telling me that I need to first complete the installation that is in progress. I can't figure out how to stop whatever installation is in progress.

Your computer is using to much resources from somewhere What you can do is go to processes and see what is using up your resources Try to stop from there and reinstall Office.
