What could be a missing DLL file

HELLO,,, I REFORMATTED THE HARD DRIVE, INSTALLED WIN 98, MICROSOFT WORKS,WORD, AND OTHER PROGRAMS, BUT WHEN I TRY TO INSTALL ANY KIND OF GAME I ALWAYS END UP WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE AT 98/99 PERCENT OF THE INSTALLATION, SO THEY DONT LOAD. I JUST HAVENT GOT A CLUE WHAT IT COULD BE.

Try reinstalling windows 98 and then load a game I had the same problem and what happenned was that installing 98 I was missing a DLL file I just put 98 cd back in and it corrected my problem I could install any game that is compatiable.
