How do I fix the problem when the computer says "the systme is dangerously low in resources"

It does this when I am trying to run the microsoft word program.

What this means is that you do not have enough memory to run microsoft word programs or not enough space you can delete unwanted applications to free up some space and mem or install more memory and a larger HD.
