What could be a conflict

HI,

I have a problem with my 'Samsung SD 604' DVD ROM drive on my computer! It will NOT play muscic/audio cd's. I have NO idea why! It will play a DVD or any other programme that you put in the tray, but will not recognize music cd's. It will scan the disc, but can never seem to find any information when a cd is loaded!

I have updated Windows Media Player, I have been to the Samsung web-site looking for updated drivers [no luck], I have reloaded Windows 98, I have searched Windows for drivers, but still no luck! Any ideas please! Thank you.

I had a similar problem and come to find out it was a conflict problem My cd-rw was in conflict with my dvd drive I need to take the jumper off my cd-rw in order to stop the conflict.
