My father introduced me to your show while visiting Phoenix, I wish that your show was here in Denver.

Can you please tell me where the "backing up data" option is on XP Home. It's under "Performance and Maintenance" in XP Pro but I'm at a loss as to where it is in the home edition.

Thank you,

Tom

While I am not the person you speak of, I am an intern who can supply you with the correct information as per request.

The Backup utility is not included in the default installation of Windows XP Home Edition The Backup icon is not present on the Start menu in Windows XP Home Edition, nor is Backup listed in Add Remove Programs for Windows XP Home edition

Note: Automated System Recovery is not a supported feature in Windows XP Home Edition using Backup, but Backup is provided on the CD-ROM as additional value to help back up critical system data For additional information, copy and paste the information below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;302700

To manually install Backup:

Double-click the Ntbackup.msi file in the following location on the Windows XP Home Edition

CD-ROM to start a wizard that installs Backup:

CD-ROM Drive:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP

When the wizard is complete, click Finish.
