What does the following message mean:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly.

I get this message when i try topen the application known as HP Director. HP Director controls the operation of an HP PSC 1200, a combination printer/scanner/copier.

I have set the internet security settings to medium.

any help would be appreciated.

This question was answered on September 23, 2003. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.


Check to verify that in the ActiveX control security settings is enable, if the proper settings is not enable you will not be able to run activex controls on the page.

you can do this by clicking on tools click on internet properties click on security click on custom there you will be to adjust the current settings.
