I get error messages when I try to start Windows XP, how do I fix this?

all right so my computer has been getting error messages and i cant start windows xp so i asked about it here and was told to reinstall windows operating system by doing the last known good configuration. i have tried this before and tried it again since thats what i was told on here. it didnt do any good. it still brings up the error message and i still can't access windows. any tips please? thanks!
