I had a computer given to me, and my wife wants to learn how to use it. Now for my question. When I boot it up it will not load. It has win95 on it and the win95 screen pops up for just a flash, then it goes into the DOS screen asking you for the options to boot into normal, safe mode, etc. No matter what option you choose this is what comes up,

The following file is missing or corrupted: C:\WINDOWS.000\HIMEM.SYS

The following file is missing or corrupted: C:\WINDOWS.000\DBLBUFF.SYS

The following file is missing or corrupted: C:\WINDOWS.000\IFSHLP.SYS

Type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g., C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)

C>_

I've tried just about everything I can think of to get it to boot up. Any ideas as to what I can do?

Thanks,

Larry

You have to reinstall Windows 95.
