I'm currently using Windows 2000 Professional, and have too many programs starting up when i start my PC.
In Windows 98/ME etc, you can pick and choose which programs you want at start-up by clicking on 'run' then typing in 'msconfig'. However, in Windows 2000, i get an error message saying 'cannot find file name 'msconfig' or one of its components'.
Can you tell me another way around this in Win 2000, as it's taking ages to boot up and using up most of the PC's 128mb of ram.
Thanks.

Windows 2000 doesnt have msconfig Xp, however, does.
If you try copying a Win98 'msconfig.exe' file, then it will not work msconfig doesn't know where to find certain system files on an nt system
If you want msconfig for 2000, then try this:
Download the two files from this location: http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Msconfig.htm
this should do the trick.
