When I first set up my XP system on my laptop, I must have inputted something incorrectly, because my name is shown in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen when I go to the Switch Users screen. Instead on 'Turn off computer' it says "Turn off Jane Doe". It has caused some problems and no one seems to know how to fix it other than reformatting the entire drive. Do you have any ideas as to how I can correct this other than reformatting? I know it happened when I first set it up. I have since gotten a newer laptop and everything works A-ok on this one. Thanks for your help.

Well since the problem accured during setup it seems like the only way to fix it is to try the setup all over again because the first setup has the jane doe name stored in memory the only way i see to fix it is to delete the first setup and start with a fresh one still i do think giving a name to a computer is a nice trick.
