Why does my computer shutdown at the Windows XP load page?

I have a Emachine that i bought, it is a 1.8 ghz 40 gig hardrive and has Windows XP home edition. every time i boot im taking to the Windows XP load page and then my computer suddenly shutdows it does that every time, i changed the power supply but it still does the same. what can be the problem?

You will need to check how memory or RAM you have in your configuration.

You need at least 128MB of RAM to successfully install Windows XP.

You also need to make sure that your hard drive partition for the OS was allocated to 2GB.

I would suggest that you make sure you that you have memory requirements(128MB of RAM),

then I would clean off the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP and make sure that the partition has been allocated for 2GB.
