How do I change the com port for my modem card.

It is currently on com5 and I need it to be on a lower one.

I changed the slot it is in but it still is on com5

I have programs that only support connection from com1 to com4

Thank You,

Joe M.

Using windows XP you may change the modem card port number by first double clicking my computer icon, second click where it said system tasks and click change a setting them click printers and other hardware after that click phone and modem options them click on modem properties, now click where it said advanced and click on advanced port settings now go to com port number and there you made change the port number.
