need help upgrading the bios

Make sure you get the serial number from your Bios chip

Go to your Bios manufacturer website

Copy the upgrade BIOS sofware to a bootable disk

Boot from the disk and follow the menu options to upgrade the BIOS If the menu gives you the option to save the old BIOS to disk, do so in case you need to revert to the old BIOS
