Every time I play a Quicktime file, qtask.exe re-sets itself in my Startup folder. I can
go to MSCONFIG and uncheck it, but the next time I play a QT file it worms its way
back in the Startup folder on next boot.
I'm sure Quicktime considers this a feature, not a bug, but I think it's deplorable.
Clearly, this is a Registry item, one I don't feel qualified to mess with.
Is there a Registry hack that keeps Qtask.exe from starting up?

If you aren’t comfortable with editing the registry then what I do is go to where Quicktime is installed usually it’s in: C:\Program Files\Quicktime and rename qttask.exe to qttask.exe.OLD That should get rid of it in your taskbar and thus stopping it from starting up again I hope that helps!
