I installed a CD-RW deive about 6 months ago. About a week ago it "disappeared" from "my computer" and cannot be accessed. Its green light flashes normally when I boot up, but it does not exist as far as my computer is concerned. I cannot use my "restore" disc because it is a CD.

My computer seems otherwise "normal".

What can I do?

I would suggest checking all or your connections, and check to see if your jumpers are set correctly The new drives jumpers should be set the same as the drive it is replacing Lastly reinstall the software for the drive or the drivers for the drive.
