The last few weeks my screen started shaking I'v tried Hori en vert on compaq v700 monitor but that dose'nt stop the problem I've tried changing the refresh rate that helps alittle, and changing my screen resalution helps when I change it to 800 but the screen is to big I'm used to a higher resalution. and it still shakes alittle even with games at the start of the game when you start the game at the startup screen. the game itself dose'nt shake.

The letters shake vert and not hori.

My question is do I have a problem with my video card or monitor?

P.S. when I tried my kids monitor I had the same problem.

The video card is one year old. NIVIDA GeForce4 mx440 with the new drivers.

Help help help. Thankyou for your time

-wrong characters are usually not the result of a bad monitor ,but reather a problen with video card.Trade the video card for one you know is good

-if the new video card doesn't work, exchange the system board.Sometime a bad chip,ROM or RAM, on the system board will display the wrong characters on the monitor
