It seems that com.net has highjacked access to the search engines I normally use (Yahoo, Google, MSN). I have scanned with SpyBot to no avail and am unsure where to go to access the setting that has been changed to reset it or where to find their files so I can delete them. I would love to search the internet for more information on this issue, but that obviously isn't going to happen anytime soon.

OK, first you have to run your antivirus software should from a clean boot Using a startup diskette (or CD-ROM) is the best solution Boot from a clean startup disk and then run the antivirus software To make sure the virus is gone.

Then do the following to repair IE.

With IE5 there is a way to do a repair in case the installation has gotten corrupted.

1 Go to the Control Panel

2 Open up Add/Remove Programs

3 Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools

4 Click the Add/Remove button

5 Check Repair Internet Explorer

6 Click on the OK button
