What is the ip address

Question

Can an email be traced to the computer that created it?

A friend, involved in an ugly divorce, is being accused by her spouse of creating some inflammatory emails. This spouse created these emails on his computer at his home, using her password to access her email account. I believe they both have the same cable ISP. Is there a way to determine the source computer that created them?

Thanks, I'd appreciate any input you might have on this

If you go to the dos command prompt and ping the email address those emails are coming from it will tell you the ip address and will be able to determine whose computer they are coming from.
