My HP computer has Windows XP installed. I have a second computer that has Windows 98 installed. This second PC has Office 2000 installed and I would like to move the hard drive from the second unit to the first so that I can utilize the Office 2000. Can I install the hard drive (with Windows 98 installed) in the first PC with XP installed?

I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks!

This will not work, you may see open files that are Office 2000 but it would not work Because the program is not install on Windows XP, it only work on Windows 98 You must have office 2000 install on your Windows XP if you wan to open a file from windows 98

You could install a hard drive that has windows 98 in the PC that has Windows XP, there is nothing wrong in doing this, but it would not install Office 2000

What you might do is to download a Office 2000 viewer either for Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc into your Windows XP and use your Windows 98 machine to create documents with office 2000 NOTICE- if use Viewer on Window XP, it would let you view the contents of any Office application but wouldn't allow you to modify
