Recently someone installed Huntbar on my computer, I am now unable to open IE. It tries to open and then shuts down. I can not find anyway to uninstall the huntbar software. I have tried adaware and spybot they both find it but will not uninstall. They say that it is resident in memory and they will clean at start up however at start up it is the same thing. Help

Hello, first do this:

1 If you are running Microsoft XP, you can go directly to the Control Panel from the Microsoft Windows Start button

2 When the Control panel window opens, double-click on the Add/Remove Programs Icon

3 When the Add/Remove Programs Properties window opens, locate the program that you would like to uninstall

4 The software may be listed as 'Internet 404', 'MSIETS' and/or 'Tools for Internet Explorer'

5 Click once on the program to be uninstalled and then click on the Add/Remove button and follow the instructions.

also try to Manual removal by Opening a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs->Accessories), and enter the following commands (for HuntBar/TS):

-type :cd "%WinDir%\System"

-type :regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Common Files\MSIETS\msiets.dll"

For HuntBar/Side and HuntBar/MSLink, enter:

-cd "%WinDir%\System"

-regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Common Files\MSIETS\msielink.dll"

For HuntBar/BTLink, enter:

-cd "%WinDir%\System"

-regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Common Files\BTLINK\btlink.dll"

For HuntBar/MSIn, enter:

-cd "%WinDir%\System"

-regsvr32 /u msiein.dll

For HuntBar/BTIn, enter:

-cd "%WinDir%\System"

-regsvr32 /u btiein.dll

For HuntBar/SToolbar, enter:

-cd "%WinDir%\System"

-regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Search Toolbar\SToolbar.dll"
