Help, I have just installed 256mb SDRAM into my computer, and now it won't boot up. It recognises the new memory is there, But when it goes to continue with the boot up, all I get is the flashing cursor in the top left hand corner of the screen??? Anyone know what could be wrong??

First what you should do is make sure the RAM is securely inserted into the slot What I mean is that both sides should click when you insert it If it is not 100% in on both sides, then you may have the wrong RAM for your computer If it does securely go in on both sides try swapping it with your original RAM So take the original out, put the new one in and start the computer This will test if the RAM itself is bad If your computer still does not boot, you should call the computer manufacturer and find out if you've bought the proper type of RAM If not take it back to where you bought it and exchange it for the correct one Also remember, when you buy new RAM the RAM count is going to take a little longer when booting and you will get the blinking cursor longer than before.

Good luck!
